| I use a genuine EXEDY clutch with another brand's alloy flywheel. My clutch is not disengaging! |
| The problem is warping of the steel insert of the alloy flywheel. These relatively thin clutch surfaces tend to warp with heat and separate somewhat from the alloy. When this occurs it does not allow room for the disc to spin freely, causing this concern. To prevent this, use one of EXEDY's light-weight, one-piece forged Chromoly flywheels. By design it can never have this problem. Click here for more details. |
| How can I tell if my clutch is a genuine EXEDY product? |
We recommend that you only buy our products from an authorized dealer. We don't condone buying EXEDY products from resellers on auction-type websites, since we have no way to confirm that the products are genuine. |
| Do you have a clutch that fits my car? |
You can use the product finder on the website to enter your Make, Model and Year to determine all of our clutch offerings for your vehicle. The product finder is located in the upper right corner of most pages of our website. |
| I need a new clutch for my car, can I buy directly from EXEDY? |
Unfortunately, No, EXEDY does not sell directly to the public. You must buy our products through one of our dealers. However, all items in our Garage Sale can be purchased directly. |
| What is the recommended break-in period for high-performance sports clutches? |
Break in period should be that of 500 miles of city type driving, double the break in period for highway driving. No aggressive driving. No hole shots or drag launches. Gear changes should be made at 4,000 RPM or less. No speed shifting. |
| I may have a problem with my EXEDY clutch. How do I handle a warranty claim? |
The first step in a warranty claim would be to contact the store where you bought it. After determining that there may be a manufacturing issue, the store where you bought the clutch can submit the product to us for further examination. We will make our determination and work with the store to resolve the issue. No warranty claims are offered sight unseen. |
